Summary
This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Central Office, Office of Trust Services, Division of Land Titles and Records in a Location Negotiable After Selection, United States.
Responsibilities
* Work with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) on a daily basis to maintain cognizance of the Bureau's program.
* Learn to redraft maps into formats necessary for accurate digitization and processes digital data obtained from outside sources.
* Adhere to strict guidance before digitizing, scanning, or keying alphanumeric data using various computers, complex operating systems and GIS and image processing software.
* Assist with collection, calculation, plotting, and digitize cartographic data for landscape features, ownership type symbolization, right-of-ways, and geographic coordinates.
* Conduct regular database backups to ensure digital data archiving.
* Research and collect available information for aerial photographs, orthophotos, satellite imagery, base maps and other cartographic source material that are assigned by management or higher graded specialists with detailed instructions.
