Is there an easy way to label my map? I turned on the label manager but the problem is it wants to label the features by their Object ID, but I never set that, so it labels everything as 1, since each feature class only has one feature. i want it to say "road"

First you will need to have an attribute field in your dataset (layer) that you will use to label the layer with. If you have a populated attribute field open the layers properties (right click on the layer) go to the labels tab then choose label features in this layer. Now select the attribute field you want the labels to be based on and click apply. That should do it.
